Ever wonder what a day is like for a spray foam roofing applicator running his own business? Here's a hint: It's so much more than a guy squeezing a trigger.

The average day of an applicator who owns his own business begins around 6:00 in the morning when he arrives on the jobsite. That site may be in his hometown or on the other side of the state - variety is a big benefit to operating a spray foam roofing business.

A typical day might include preparing the site for application. He hooks up the equipment, starts to spray, and then cleans up the site and his equipment before leaving the site when daylight fades.

bullet Some spray foam roofing applicators prefer commercial work over residential (or the reverse), they are on site for a longer time, working in tandem with other contractors.
bullet If the roofing applicator/business owner has more than one crew, he can expect to spend time managing logistics: getting them from one site to another, coordinating with builders, other contractors, or with home owners.
bullet Other days may be devoted to answering questions from - and marketing to - architects, specifiers, or home owners, depending on the focus of the business.
